Tradition is preserved even today in Santorini, at its small village communities. According to journalist Mr Emmanuel A. Lignos, religious festivals called “agiomnisia”, traditional weddings with local instruments that accompany the procedures of the ceremony, local products, deserts, old wineries called canaves where grapes are crushed, are some of the aspects of tradition that is still alive on the island.
