With the background of the dark, yet romantic, historic landscape of Santorini, Thira Municipality presents the works of Maria Kavvou-Vlataki on-Sea, Earth and Body, her first personal art exhibition.

The expression of earthly material reveals the whole of cosmic energy, the interactive relationship between inanimate and living forms, the deeper sense of soul. The artist experimented with different techniques, sometimes with watercolor and sometimes acrylic. Particularly impressive is the depth, often deceives somebody in the eye of the beholder, but also an indication of liquidity in the naked body. Starting from raw materials of the planet, water and stone, the artist comes to human souls, which show the most inner psychological ramifications of Being, but nakedness is always reminding them that they are isolated natural products.

The exhibition will be hosted in Bellonio Conference Center in Fira, Santorini from August 21st to 26th 2010 (opening hours 10.00-14.00 and 18.00-22.30). The exhibition will be held Saturday, August 21st at 20:00
