The small village of Vothonas is the northeast corner of the island and seems to be following Messaria. The houses are built within the volcano rocks and are built around the central church of the Virgin Mary. Narrow paths and stairs unite different parts of the village. During your stay in Vothonas deserves to visit the two small churches that are built inside the caves: Panagia tis Tripas (Madonna of the hole) and Serginas. In the lower entrance of Vothona is also the chapel of St. Roussou, built in a rock of Pumice.
